Observations:

Solomon had 700 wives of royal birth and 300 concubines

Because of Solomon's unfaithfulness to God, the kingdom was divided

Solomon was succeeded by Rehoboam his son.

Observation

Saul told by Samuel to attack the Amalekites and kill everything
Saul captures Agag the king and the best of the flocks and herds

David kills Goliath and is made the commander of the army
Saul became jealous over David's fame
Saul tired to get David killed by offering his daughter in marriage for 100 Philistines
David succeeds and doubles it

David flees from Saul's wrath and stays a step ahead.

Observations

Ruth and Boaz were in the direct line to David and Jesus

Hannah gives Samuel to God, and he's taken under Eli to be trained
Eli blesses Hannah and she has three more son and two daughters
Samuel would sleep near the Ark
God called to Samuel, and he goes to Eli, thinking he was calling
Eli sends him back to bed
This happens three times
On the third time, Eli tells Samuel if it happens agains to ask God to speak
God calls to Samuel again, and he does what Eli said

Israel tries to use the Ark as a good luck charm against the Philistines
When the Ark came out the Philistines fought harder out of panic
The Ark was captures and Eli's sons were killed
Eli cared more about the Ark than his sons--God had told him his sons would die
When Eli heard about the Ark, he died
The Philistines put the Ark nest tot he idol of Dagan
In the morning, the idol had fallen in front of the Ark, so it was put back up
The following morning, the same thing had happened, and its head and hands were in the doorway.
God sent a plague of tumors to the city
The Ark was moved to a different city, and the plague struck there as well
The Ark was sent to another city, but the people wouldn't allow it in the gates
The priests of the Philistines said to send it back, which they do

Samuel became the judge

The people of Israel demand a king
God tells Samuel t give them one
Saul is anointed king

Saul must have felt bad when Samuel was talking about the people being wicked for asking for a king

--she tells him it will be known that a woman had victory
--Sisera fights for Canaan
--when the Canaanites begin to fall, Sisera runs and hides in Jael's tent
--Jael tells Sisera to rest, then she puts a tent spike through his head.
--Deborah judges 40 years

--takes 300 men to fight the Midianites
--they attack Midian by torches and horns
--the Midianites kill each other
--Gideon judges 40 years
