Observations and Questions:
Dreams of the cup-bearer and baker happened on the same night
They came true

Two years pass

Pharaoh has his two dreams, Joseph interprets
Joseph made Pharaoh's second in command, renamed Zaphenath-paneah
Joseph marries Asenath and has 2 sons-Manassah and Ephraim
Collects 1/5 of surplus in the seven years of good growth

During the famine:
--once egyptians ran out of money, they used livestock
--once out of livestock, they used their land and freedom
by the end, all of Egypt was a slave of Pharaoh

Joseph's brothers come to buy food
He accuses them of being spies and imprisons them for three days
He keeps Simeon until they return with Benjamin
They don't return for two years
When they do, with Benjamin, Joseph invites them for a meal, and seats them by age
He give Benjamin five times as much food as he does the other brothers

44:15--"Didn't you know a man like me can predict the future?"
--------they think he's talking divination
--------he means his dreams

Jacob and family--66 not including his son's wives--came to Egypt and given the area of Goshen

Jacob blesses the younger of Joseph's sons with the elder's blessing, just like he was

Job:
God was bragging about Job to Satan
God allowed Satan to do anything but harm Job
--Oxen and donkeys were stolen, farmhands killed by Sabeans
--fire from heaven burned up all the sheep and shepherds
--Chaldean raiders stile camels and killed the servants
--son's house fell on all of his children

Job didn't waver

God allows Satan to do whatever to Job but kill him

Job talks to his friends, who aren't very encouraging or empathetic
